we started our 2nd day with buffet breakfast at the hotel's
i was introduced with "kuay chap" a type of local food here...
nice breakfast...stomach was bloated
started our journey to Songkhla at 11am...
hired a van to bring us around...
we were fortunate enough to meet this friendly tour guide who brought us around Songkhla
rain so heavily...so sad
but we were quite lucky...as the rain went on and off...
1st stop...Tang Kuan Hill
went up the hill by lift...upon reaching...nice view from the peak
nice phrases along the stair case...
"Be happy for what you have and
Satisfied which what you got"
"Live each day, as if there was no tomorrow"
the royal pagoda, Phra Chedi Luang and the Lighthouse
2nd stop...Samila Beach
(the golden mermaid statue)
then a brief stop at Tenaga Square (dragon head)
there is this statue of the ruler of Thailand (if not mistaken) not far away from the dragon head
saw this "super coconut ice cream" stall on the way...
stopped by n decided to give it a try...
not bad...the ice cream is served with sweet potatoes n peanuts...
special~!!!
3rd stop...Sleeping Buddha
4th stop...we had Thai food for lunch..
somewhere recommended by the tour guide
tasty Tom Yum...thumbs up~!!!
lots of local food delicacies sold here too
5th stop...four face Buddha
lots of golden elephants around..
6th stop...hilltop Buddha statue
nice view from the top
7th stop...Kuan Yin temple
the Huang Di and Laughing Buddha
8th stop...boat market
there were only a few of the boats selling food as the place was flooded due to the rain
9th stop...market
we managed to drop by the market...lots of clothes n foods sold here...
there is this uncle selling this ice cream...
quite similar to the ice cream potong in Malaysia...
but the ice cream is fatter than what we used to have in Malaysia
10th stop...Tesco aka Lotus
they sell pork here...PORK!!!!!
in Malaysia its Pizza Hut..here is The Pizza Company
Malaysia ada Dairy King..Thailand ada Dairy Queen
we ordered duck mee, fried oyster, wantan mee n wu xiang...
totally different from what we have in Malacca...
the oyster is even bigger then the size of my thumb..haha
last stop of the day...supper
lots of stalls selling food in front of Lee Gardens Plaza Hotel...
went for mamak...hehe
mee goreng, porridge with pork intestine, nasi goreng, teh tarik n fried chicken...
